You are able to insert images in discussion forum posts. This is a helpful feature when you would like to use screenshots, graphs or digraphs to get your message across.
Follow these steps to insert an image:
Step 1: Start crafting your post by either adding a new discussion or replying to an existing post.
Step 2: You will see two text boxes titled "Your subject" and "Type your post". Enter the subject of your post and either begin typing your forum post or if you would like to add your image immediately, click on "Use advanced editor" (shown in the screenshot below)
Step 3: Once you have clicked the "Use Advanced Editor" link, additional options will appear in the editing window (shown in the screenshot below). Click on theicon to begin selecting your image.
Step 4: The "File picker" pop-up window will appear. Select the “Upload a file” option to upload an image from your computer then click "Choose File".
Step 5: Once you have clicked on "Choose File" you will now be able to choose a file from your computer. Select the image you would like to upload and click the "Open" button.
Step 6: The name of the image you have selected should now be displayed next to the “Choose File” button. You can now click “Upload this file” button.
Step 7: After you have clicked the "Upload this file" button you will now see the "Image properties" pop-up window. You will now have the option to add a description of your image in the "Image description" text box. If you decide to not add a description, you will receive a warning message which you can bypass by ticking the "Description not necessary" tickbox. Click "Save image"
|Please note: While adding a description to your image is optional, it is best practice to do so. Image descriptions are often used to promote accessibility for blind and other vision-impaired users who use screen readers. |
Your image should now display in your message box. All you need to do now is post your message to the forum by clicking on the "SUBMIT" button. If you require further assistance please do not hesitate to email us on email@example.com or if you prefer speaking to us, please call us on:
